July Favorites

Monthly favorites, yay!

There are some things that I wanted to include but didn't because I don't feel that I've used them enough to really consider it a 'favorite'.

Just going to jump right into the products!

L.A Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer in Silver Glitter and Black
These are the first nail art stripers I've tried and so far I'm really liking them. They're so easy to use for just doing a quick design or even help with something more detailed.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette
As I'm pretty sure all of you know, my boyfriend bought me the Naked palette last month and I'm extremely in love with it. It's so versatile and the colors are gorgeous. It has great blending, crease, highlight, and all over lid colors. So in love!

NYC Smooth Skin Translucent Pressed Powder
This is the main powder I use right now and I meant to include it in my June favorites and forgot. Bottom line, it helps to set my makeup and it helps to keep oil under control. I wouldn't consider it anything spectacular as it doesn't have any coverage (it's translucent) but it does do a good job keeping me "matte".

Renuzit Air Freshener in After The Rain
This is kind of random but I've always loved these things, especially the After The Rain scent. It smells so nice and fresh and all you have to do is twist the top up.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner
I'm really loving this deep conditioner since I got it. I've used it before but I wasn't really that into hair care so I didn't really think about how it affected my hair I just kind of used it. I haven't noticed that it weighs my hair down and it leaves it so soft. I also really like the smell, kind of coconut-y.

Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Black
I looove pairing this eyeliner with my Physician's formula eye booster eyeliner and it makes such a deep black. I did notice the first time I used it I started to get smudges which never happens with my physician's formula, so I knew it wasn't that, but I was also kind of greedy with the amount of primer I used and the second time I tried it everything was fine. (Also, I don't think my concealer was set in enough under my eyes.)

OPI Cuticle Oil Pen
I really like this cuticle oil pen because it's so convenient and quick. This is another thing I meant to include in my June Favorites. It gets rid of the dryness I can get around my nails and makes everything look soft and pretty. All I have to do is swipe and be done, so it's really great.

China Glaze Nail Polish in For Audrey and First Mate
I've really been liking these two colors and their formulas. First mate is pretty much opaque with one coat and is such a gorgeous dark blue. I've really been liking For Audrey, it's kind of reminds me of a more dull blue-toned version of my Revlon 'Minted'.

China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
This base coat was definitely a step up from my last. It's thinner and not goopy and much easier to apply. However, it's not the best at preventing stains it does an OK job. If I apply two coats I can probably get away with no or minimum staining. I do feel like it makes my polish last longer though, with the help of OTD top coat,  of course.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I love your favorites! :) I've been wanting to get my hands on the Naked and Naked 2 palettes for soooo long but it's so hard to get it where I live, sucks that we have limited make-up lines here. I can't even find online shops that ship Naked palettes here, haha, urggh. =/

Hope you have a fab day hun!

    1. This is the only product I use from Aussie right now but I definitely love how it smells. I read reviews of people complaining about the smell and I'm like "what?" haha. Yeah, I'm not sure how it stands up to heat for a long period of time, but it's so cheap you really aren't losing anything by trying it. I also saw it at the dollar store, of course that was after I already bought it at CVS.

  3. Wonderful favourites Christa!! The Art Deco stripers are great aren't they? And they are cheap! And yes, I've been pairing the Milani eyeliner with the PF eyeliner which smooths out all the "rough edges" and gives such a dark line!

  9. ive been hesitant about the urban decay naked palettes because it seems to me that so many of the colors are dark. i dont like my neutral looks to be too heavy/borderline smoky eye... but everyone is obsessed with the palette so i feel like im missing out haha. you look like you have lighter colored eyes, what do you think? xoxo

    1. If you have the money I would say definitely go for it. The best thing about this palette is the colors blend out so well. Even though it looks dark, you can blend it to be a lot lighter if you aren't happy with it. I do a lot of very subtle looks with this palette and I love how they all turn out, I actually haven't done any heavy look with it yet.
Also, whether you get it from Sephora or Urban Decay, they both have great return policies. (:

    1. I very highly recommend it. The only negative things I've ever seen about the palette is saying it's over hyped, which I would say it definitely livs up to the hype. I love the cuticle pen! Haha. (: Oh awesome, definitely checking out your blog, I'd love to follow eachother!
