Fall Leaves Nails

Hellooo!
Fall has "officially" begun (a few days ago) and I'm so glad it's here!
Unfortunately, the weather here in Florida is nothing short of hot and humid still..

I wanted to do a Fall/Autumn inspired nail design since I love fall colors, though it's hard to let go of the bright spring and summer ones, it's a nice change.

Here I used China Glaze "Holly-Day" as the base and used red, orange, and yellow acrylic paints for the leaves.

I only had to use one coat of Holly-Day, it applied so smooth and even.
This does look better in person to me, since you don't see as many of the flaws but it doesn't look too horrible on camera I hope.
The sunlight also wasn't very good at capturing the warmth of the colors.

Also!

  1. This is so cute!!! You and Traci are giving me a lot of neat ideas to try. Mine of course will end up looking like marble art instead of fall leave...LMAO!!!

Aww, I'm sure it'll turn out great. But hey, even if not, practice makes perfect!

    1. Thank you! Haha, honestly, I wasn't expecting them to even turn out as well as they did. I wanted a different shape for the leaf, but my paint didn't want to work with me. Thank you! I hope you do try it. (: I did use nail brushes, I got a set of 15 for about $2 on eBay.

    1. Thank you! It comes in handy at times but I want to try to find more opaque acrylic paints.

    1. Thanks, Jayne! I can't really do it on my nails either, my paints aren't very opaque which doesn't help but it didn't go as bad as I thought! Haha.

  10. These remind me of nails I use to do when I was young, the first nail art I ever did was white daisies on over forest green. I could only do the left hand since I am right handed so it kind of sucked, but now I have gotten better but I never wear green nails anymore.
