Maisie Shine Swatches and Review

Today I'm reviewing two polishes, 2013 and Cookie Exchange, from Maisie Shine.
This is one coat of 2013 over China Glaze Let's Groove with top coat.
2013 is a clear base that consists of gold, fuchsia, and purple glitters. There's so many different glitters in this polish, it really looks like a party on your nails! Glitters that came to the party are in shapes such as hexes, squares, and bars. This polish had a semi-thin base which made me happy, it can be a little frustrating when the base is thick and layering is needing. However, this glitter did have nice coverage in only one coat.
This is three coats of Cookie Exchange with top coat.
Cookie exchange is a milky white base with red, green and silver glitters. The glitters in this polish vary between red, green, and silver hexes to smaller red and green glitters spread throughout the whole bottle. It's a little hard to tell but this polish also has holographic bar glitter. This is my first "milky" polish, which made me really excited. This polish is pretty thin and is very build-able, I had zero problems with applying. (Aside from the bar glitters trying to rebel! Easy fix, though) I think Cookie Exchange is very festive and I'm really liking the white base!

  1. How do you take pictures of your nails? Theyre always so bright and amazing with a plain background. Maybe you can make a tutorial or something like that?:)

    1. I take them under my lamp. (: Thank you! I use a black posterboard for the background.
I may be able to, I'm not sure if there's much to show though!

    2. How does the light not reflect off of the posterboard but it leaves it pitch black?
P.S. I hope you don't mind sharing your technique with me, because I'm starting a blog and I need to perfect my photos! And I adore your pictures :)

  7. Mmmm...reminds me of "peppermint" cookies...can you see any VNL with this one? I love milky polishes, but I find I always have to wear a coat of white first..
