Guest Post: NailArtInc!

Hello there!
My name is Julia, I just turned 17, and I got the chance to write a guest post for Chrissy's blog. I'm a nail polish lover and nail artist like her, and I sometimes do photo tutorials, too. So today's post will be about something I love: sea nails!
This design might appear difficult to do for you, but if you read the tutorial below and follow the steps, you'll have a whole ocean on your nails soon.

Step 1: Paint your nails sky blue. I used Models Own Feeling Blue.
Step 2: Do the Saran Wrap technique using dark blue nail polish (I used Catrice It Blue My Mind) - hint: Mask your cuticles with tape because you don't want the dark polish on your skin!
Step 3: Paint the sand-like ground (I used OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons).
Step 4: Now, using dark purple, dark green and lighter shades of green, paint the algas. (I used p2 Dim The Lights, Catrice Hugo Moss, Catrice ACid/DC and Models Own Jade Stone)
Step 5: The last part of painting is all about the sealife! I decided only to paint fishes, but you could also add turtles, an octopus or an anchor, seahorses, sharks .. there are endless possibilities. As always, you could use Google image search for inspiration. The colours I used for my fishes were Barry M Neon Pink, Barry M Neon Yellow, p2 Electric, Misslyn Snow White, Models Own Disco Mix, OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons, Catrice I Am A Lob-Star and p2 Eternal.
Step 6: This is an optional last step: I applied a light blue glitter polish (Portia by Julep) and a layer of p2's Matte Victim top coat. If you'd like to use a normal, shiny top coat, it'll perfectly work aswell.
Finally, let your top coat dry and clean up around the cuticles.

That's it! You see, it might take some time (1-2 hours) - but I think it's worth it. It looks so pretty! Furthermore, it's a very unique nailart design because everybody will paint their algas and fishes (and more) differently. I hope you liked my tutorial and are interested in more nailart like this. If you are, check out my blog http://nailartinc.blogspot.com. I'll be happy to see you there!

This manicure is sooo adorable!! I've only done a sea mani once and it did not turn out this great at all. I recently came across Julia's blog when she contacted me about the guest post and I'm really happy she did! Her nail designs are so creative and cute. She's also a teenager like myself which is always fun to come across! Thank you so much for your post, Julia! You can visit Julia's blog at NailArtInc!
