Revlon Colorstay Foundation Review

Hey!

So as most of you know, I purchased the Revlon Colorstay foundation and was a little disappointed with it.
I've had more time to test it out and so here's the review!

When I did my first impression on this foundation, I said that it had a bad smell and that it lingered throughout the day. However, since then I've noticed next to no smell when using it. I have been using it with concealer and/or powder since then, I'm not sure how much of a change that would've made but the smell is minimal and just when I first apply it to my face. I haven't tried it alone again since I'm happy with the results I've been getting.

I'm in the shade 110 Ivory, and this about how much I use.
(It might look like more than it is because I didn't have my camera ready and it had started spreading down my hand.)

Now here's what really surprised me.
I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but whenever I'm in a dark/poorly lit room and I take pictures with flash, all my imperfections are shown clear as daylight, even ones I can't see with my own eyes.
However, I tested it here in a picture and it wasn't my average result.

and then an awkward full face.
(The lighting and colors are really weird since it was taken in the dark with flash
and this was the only one I took)

All of the products I used:
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer
Revlon Colorstay Foundation
NYC Translucent Powder
Bare Minerals Clear Radiance
Physicians Formula 2 in 1 Eyebooster Eyeliner
Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Pros:
▪ Medium to Full Coverage
▪ $10 at Walmart
▪ Long lasting
▪ Doesn't cause break outs
▪ Matte/Natural Finish
▪ Sets fast

Cons:
▪ No pump
▪ Smell

Do I recommend it? Yes.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Rating: 4.5/5

Thanks for reading!

  1. I think your skin looks amazing and flawless! I don't know how lighting and cameras work so generally whenever I have time and the weather is nice, I just do a massive picture-taking session because natural light is so much more flattering. I hate taking self shots, I've never been much of a poser and I always feel awkward in photos too. I am glad to see that the foundation ended up being a winner though!

    2. Thank you! I couldn't believe how smooth it looked.. on camera too! Well I think I've just kind of gathered what works for me and stick to the same thing, though I try to do different things sometimes.

Thank you for asking, Jayne! She's been better, no more ER visits thankfully. (:
