Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette

So recently I opened my Naked2 palette that my boyfriend bought me.
Originally, I was waiting until he got here to open it but unfortunately, he wasn't able to make it.
Instead I opened it on web cam so he could at least see me open it that way.

When I heard about the original Naked palette, I was so stuck on it.
I had just gotten into eye shadows and palettes and it seemed like it was everywhere I looked when it came to make up. Someone had suggested to me to get the Naked2 instead and I didn't think I'd really like it better until I actually looked it up and saw the colors that were in it. I also think, based on swatches, the Naked2 would be better for lighter skin tones like myself.
Thus, the decision was made! I was stuck on the Naked2 for months.

The Naked2 comes with twelve taupe and greige neutrals.
This palette retails for $50 USD.
I won't deny it's an expensive palette, though considering that each of these individual eye shadows are $18 USD each and you're getting 12 for fifty, I'd say this is a really good value.
Each of the eye shadows within the palette are 0.05 US oz, which is the same fill weight as the individuals.
The packaging to me feels really sturdy and durable.

This palette consists of the following shades:
Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Tease, Snake Bite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout.

Foxy: Foxy is a matte shade that is pretty close to my skin tone. It is more yellow, so it doesn't match entirely. I find this shade perfect for blending and to add around my eye to prevent any oils.
As surprising as it may be, Foxy is one of the colors I was really anticipating as a favorite. Just like the others, it is very pigmented and blends in so effortlessly.

Half Baked: Half baked is a little more "coppery" than I thought it would be. What I mean by that is I thought it was a lighter gold, though it seems a tad bit darker than I expected. It's more of a copper color with a golden sheen to it. It has a frosty finish and excellent color pay off. This was the color I was really interested in when I had gotten into my Naked obsession.

Booty Call: Booty call is a gorgeous light creamy beige shade that has a peach-like undertone. It almost matches my skin tone besides the fact that it's very frosty and a tad lighter. It has very good pigmentation, though it's not too noticeable on me since it is a lighter shade. I was really excited for this color and I'm glad it didn't disappoint.

Chopper: Chopper is an orangey/copper shade with flecks of shimmer in it. This color is extremely pigmented, I barely touch it and there is so much color pay off. It also has a frosty finish.

Tease: Tease is a mauve color that's almost like a plum brown. It has a matte finish and I find it great for putting in my crease. It's a really interesting shade to me and has good pigmentation. It blends easily and it's another color I was really looking forward to that didn't disappoint.

Snake Bite: Snake bite is incredibly pigmented. It's a darker brownish bronze color with golden flecks of shimmer and a frosted finish. It has such a great texture to it as it almost feels creamy or "buttery".

Suspect: Suspect is a soft bronze/gold champagne-like shade. It has very nice pigmentation that catches the light beautifully. I wasn't very interested in this color, not to say I didn't like it, when I looked at swatches online. However, seeing it in person now I think it's a gorgeous shade.

Pistol: Pistol is a darker taupe-like brownish grey and has a frosted finish. It has a smooth texture to the touch and good color pay off.

Verve: Verve is a 'greige' that almost looks pink-toned. I expected this to be more of a full-on silver and it was another color I was really excited for. I'm not disappointed with the color difference, it does still look kind of silver and has great pigmentation.

YDK: YDK is a coppery red-toned brown that I would consider to be more warm than the others. It has a frosted finish with golden/copper flecks of shimmer. It was a color I didn't really think I'd be interested in however it has great color pay off and is a beautiful copper shade.

Busted: Busted is a deeper brown that is almost 'taupey'. It has such a smooth texture with great pigmentation. I really love this color, it's another shade I was surprised by.

Blackout: Blackout is a deep black with a matte finish. It has great color pay off and comes off as a true black. I used this on top of my eyeliner to set it, it made it a matte black and didn't move all day.

I didn't watermark this photo since there wasn't really any room to, hopefully it won't need it.

As opposed to the original Naked palette, Naked2 came with a dual sided eyeshadow brush.

On one side, you have a dense and soft blending/crease brush.

On the other side, you have a dense and soft shading/shadow brush.

The palette also came with a small tube of Urban Decay's lip junkie in the shade Naked.
It is 0.11 US fl oz and more of a sheer darker pink-mauve color with micro shimmer.
Due to me being so fair, I'm not really into darker shades. However, this is more on the sheer side and has a nice feel. It isn't sticky or gooey and it has a minty flavor and scent.

As if the value weren't great enough already, I also got free samples.. and lots!
Within the samples, I got Urban Decay's Supercurl Curling Mascara Deluxe Sample and I love it!
Other than that I got samples of their Urban Defense tinted moisturizer, primer potion, complexion and brightening potion, and deluxe samples of their Stardust eyeshadow in Bobby Dazzle and 24/7 Eye Pencil in Mildew.

Pros:
▪ Great pigmentation
▪ Not flaky or powdery
▪ Sturdy packaging
▪ Shadows apply smoothly
▪ Great value for the price, quality, and quantity
▪ Dual sided brush
▪ Cool toned shades
▪ Great neutral color selection
▪ No creasing
▪ Large mirror

Cons:
▪ If I had to find a con, replacing the primer potion with lip gloss.

 Do I recommend it? Yes!
Would I repurchase? Yes, though I think this palette will last a long time.
Rating: 5/5

  2. Great review Christa! Now, I feel left out because my man certainly WOULD NOT get this for me! I have the original Naked palette and I feel like having both of them would be too much..I really like the packaging of Naked 2 so much better though.

  4. I never use eyeshadow but this one always makes me want to buy it, its so pretty but I would never use it, probably because I have never really tried to apply it properly.

Great review though, maybe I will think more into buying it

    1. Thank you~
I was never really into eyeshadow either, but since I've gotten into it, I love it! There's so many different things you can do and this palette is so versatile.

They have also have a "love it or leave it" policy in which you can return it within 45 days for any reason, if you feel you won't use it or don't like it. (:
