Glitter Swatches!

This is four coats of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, no top coat.
I was a little skeptical about this polish because of the swatches but I've come to really love it.
It's a teal-like green-blue jelly polish with multicolored green and blue glitters. This polish is like two different colors in different lighting. When it's in sunlight, it turns into a lighter teal like you see in the image above. However, indoors out of sunlight it's a gorgeous darker green. You can kind of see the green peaking out on the free edge of my nails. It's such a stunning polish and dries fairly quick. It is sheer so it took about 3-4 coats to get it close to opaque. However, even with the four coats you see there's still some VNL.

This is four to five coats of China Glaze Glitter Goblin with no top coat.
This is a clear based copper-toned glitter with holographic glitter packed in throughout it. Despite needing many coats, it looked so lovely and festive! I didn't use a top coat and it was smudge-ville without it! Not even a minute after taking pictures I had ruined two nails, leaving me no choice but to remove it.
Next time I'll definitely use a top coat if I plan on keeping it on for a while.

Moooo!

Hello fellow cows and calves! Today I bring you an udderly bovine manicure!
For this, I used China Glaze Snow as my base color and China Glaze Sugar High for the cow mouth/nose.
Then, for the cow spots I used China Glaze Liquid Leather with dotting tools!

The Think Pink Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Traci from drinkcitra to do Rachel's Think Pink Tag.
This tag is basically a creative way to help spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness!
Along with the tag, she has also started a giveaway which you can find in the same post.

THE TAG:
1) Pick out your favorite pink food, makeup, fashion, and random item
2) Spread the message about breast cancer to a female friend/family in your life
3) Write a blog post about 1 & 2
4) Tag 3 of your blogger girlfriends to do the same

Updates & More

Hi!
This post I will try to keep short since it's just about some updates.

I wanted to let you guys know I believe I have an official date for my first giveaway. I haven't really been on top of posting for that reason because I'm so excited! I'm still doing nail art pictures on Instagram so if you follow me there you know that.  Also, a little info here in case anyone has been wondering, the reason I tend not to post a lot of my nail art on my blog is because I want to be a "universal" beauty blogger rather than just nail art. (Which is why [usually] I wait and do a picture heavy nail art post) However, nail art is something I'm really really into.
I try not to spam you guys with it.. unless you don't mind? Haha.
I've also made some changes to my blog, pretty minor but I feel that it is looking a bit better.

Finally, I was recently emailed by another blogger who also lives in Florida, is home schooled, and she's a teenager. I've only just met her and I can tell she's such a sweet and wonderful person and a great blogger as well. As soon as we began talking it was like an instant click, we're so alike! She has awesome nail art, reviews, swatches, images, you name it. I highly recommend you guys check out her blog at XOXO Alexis Leigh, you won't be disappointed!

That's all for now, thanks for reading!

Bloody Zombie Nails

Appetizing, isn't it?
Hello lovelies! Today I did a zombie manicure and I'm pretty proud of myself, it turned out better than I thought.
I got the idea after I did my mani of the 'spooky' house and trees.
With the help of a makeup sponge, nail polish, and photoshop to create a more dead looking skin tone, the zombie nails were born! ..or created.
(All of the color adding, besides the base color, was done using torn up pieces of a make up sponge)

How I did it:
I started off with China Glaze First Mate as my base color. Then, using a torn piece of a makeup sponge, I dabbed on China Glaze Let's Groove across my nails. (This isn't sounding very zombie like yet, is it?)
After that, I used China Glaze Papaya Punch, again with a make up sponge. I lightly added this on all my nails, making sure not to have too much polish on the sponge. You want a light amount of the color, not a bright orange. You'll start seeing a bit of the zombie affect coming in. After that, I mixed in CG Liquid Leather and Snow, I wanted a dark grey. Use more black than white. Again, use a small amount. You want a little of each color, not one color taking over. Then, I used China Glaze Holly-Day. I decided to add Liquid Leather all around the border of my nail except on my free edge. I then applied BK's Super Matte Surface Oil Top Coat. I cleaned up with a Q-Tip and then used China Glaze Brownstone for a dried blood look. I also added this messily around my nail. Finally, I dabbed on some Confetti The Red Carpet for a more fresh blood look.

I know it seems like a lot of steps, but it actually took me less than twenty minutes to finish the manicure.
I was thinking about doing a tutorial for it but I'm not sure if it'd really be necessary, what do you think?

Swatch watch!

Hello, lovelies!
I've been doing some swatching lately and I'm so impressed with most of the colors so far.
Unfortunately, I chipped a nail, forcing me to trim down the rest. :(

Here are some swatches before the trim down!
This is three coats of Color Club Holiday Splendor with OTD top coat.
This is absolutely beautiful, but it takes a lot of shaking up or else it doesn't apply too well.
Everything about this polish is lovely, the color and the glitters. This picture doesn't do it justice at all.

This is one coat of China Glaze Foie Gras and one coat of Luxe and Lush with no top coat.
I was really happy to see this polish was a one coater. I am a little disappointed that it looks so similar to Street Chic, however. Nonetheless, it's a lovely brown and great for fall.
I'm very much impressed with Luxe and Lush as well. The flakes are so beautiful!

This is one coat of China Glaze Foie Gras and one coat of Luxe and Lush with BK Super Matte top coat.
Once again, I'm loving using this matte top coat. It's so fun to experiment with!
Which do you prefer, the matte or shine?

And now, after the trim!
This is one coat of China Glaze Brownstone with no top coat.
I was worried about this polish looking too brown and dull, however it surprised me. I really like the color of it and I think it suits the season quite well. It has a nice shine, even without a top coat.

This is one coat of China Glaze Let's Groove with no top coat.
I am love-love-loving this polish. It is so gorgeous and it's a one-coater as well with great shine. I didn't have any polish like this before now and I am so pleased with it. It has beautiful micro shimmers throughout it that show up so lovely in light. I fell in love with it when I first used it on my galaxy nails.

Birthday Polishes

Most of you probably know that my birthday was the seventeenth of September, so you might kind of be like whaat? However, this is kind of late because Faraz had bought me a Sephora gift card but I couldn't really find anything I really really wanted, and didn't want to buy something just to buy it. So here's my late, by my fault, birthday presents from Faraz. ♥
Those of you who read here often are probably wondering why I got another bottle of a few polishes, if you noticed that. It's because I'm pretty close to having my giveaway ready and I got a few of my favorite polishes to add to it! I'm not going to say which ones, but you can probably guess if you're a frequent reader.

Review: BK Super Matte Surface Oil Top Coat

Today I'm reviewing BK Super Matte Surface Oil top coat. This can be found on BornPrettyStore.com. This review may seem a little hyper since this is my first matte top coat and I had so much fun experimenting with it!

Claim: I couldn't find an exact claim for this polish, however it says that you apply the matte transfiguration surface oil to your nail, and then your nail polish will change to matte.

Price: $4.36

Packaging: I like packaging like this bottle has. It's in a round glass bottle which holds .5 fl oz. The bottle is "foggy" looking which I think fits well since it's a matte top coat and the packaging is "matte" as well. The top goes on securely and everything feels durable. I was concerned about the top because it looked like it wasn't twisting down all of the way, but I realized that must just the packaging. I haven't experienced any leakage of any sort, so everything there is fine.

Texture: I'm glad this top coat has a thinner consistency, I hate dealing with thick and goopy top coats. I was kind of skeptical about the "surface oil" in the name, thinking it would be oily and run all over my nail. However, I was proven wrong. It applies really nicely and has a fairly quick drying time. It only takes a small layer for an amazing matte effect. The drying time is not as quick as my OTD top coat, which I didn't expect it to be, but it dries just as fast, if not faster, as Sally Hansen Mega Shine. I recommend waiting until your polish and/or design is completely dry before applying this, or any top coat for that matter.

Scent: It's nothing overwhelming. Basically, it's nail polish.

Longevity: I did a manicure with this which I wore for a little over three days. I didn't have any chipping or peeling, which made me quite happy! I didn't really test it for longer than that because that's my typical wear time with nail polish, I experiment a lot.
Here is a nail design I did using this top coat. I applied China Glaze Liquid Leather and then the top coat. Then, using tape, I created glossy tips with Liquid Leather.

In the image above, to the left is China Glaze Snow alone. The picture on the right is Snow with the BK Super Matte Surface Oil Top Coat. These were the results gotten in approximately 20 seconds.

Also, instead of just a solid color, I also wanted to demonstrate the effect on a metallic and glitter.
The images were a little hard to get, but I did my best.
Here is Sally Hansen Celeb City and China Glaze I'm Not Lion, both alone.

Here they are with the matte top coat. I was pretty surprised by how Celeb City turned out and I have a nail design in mind for it after seeing the result.

Thoughts: I'm quite happy with this top coat and the results I get from it. It is my first matte top coat so I couldn't compare it to any others, however I'm glad I can add it to my collection now. The effect doesn't take long at all to set in and the drying time is pretty great for a polish that doesn't claim to be fast drying.
You can purchase this top coat here.

BornPrettyStoreBorn Pretty Store also has a coupon code that my readers
can use to receive 10% off their order. The code is "GAL91" as seen in the image.

Do I recommend it? Yes.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Review: L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

I'm excited for this review for a particular reason, the BB Cream I'm reviewing was sent to me from Traci!
Both Traci and Jayne sent me goodies for my birthday and it was so sweet! Thank you both so much. ♥

I'm going to start this review off pretty straight forward, this BB Cream makes Maybelline's BB cream look like shiitake mushrooms.
(Not literally.. and in my opinion of course)

Claim: "Primes to smooth skin's texture; perfects to hide imperfections; hydrates for all-day moisture; corrects skin for a healthy-looking, even complexion. L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream instantly transforms to your perfect shade for a flawless bare-skin finish. Over time, you get more beautiful skin. Four beautifying actions in one, flawless bare-skin finish, dermatologist tested, helps protect against pore clogging."

Packaging: The packaging is nothing spectacular.. I really don't expect it to be. It does look pretty as far as packaging appearance, however. It is a squeeze tube applicator with a twist off cap.

Scent: This BB Cream has a slight scent. Nothing overwhelming at all, basically smells like lotion. It's not something I even notice when I apply it.

Coverage: The coverage of this BB Cream is light. It actually looks like nothing is going on at all (I guess it matches that well) but it does help to cover minor skin problems. I have some acne marks and it does a decent job at covering some and others it reduces the appearance of, not completely however. It does cover enough to the point where I feel pretty comfortable and don't worry about foundation too much. I really love wearing this with concealer on my lazy days when I want to cover up without the whole routine. It looks natural and works great.

Texture: This BB Cream has a bit of a "grainy" texture to it. It comes out white and contains encapsulated pigments that start to 'burst' as you rub it in. The lotion part of this BB Cream claims to contain antioxidants vitamins C and E.

(These images are of my hand in natural light)

Thoughts: I've really been enjoying this, it's definitely done a better job than my Maybelline BB Cream. I feel like I have noticed an improvement in my skin since I've been wearing it, for a while I was wearing it almost everyday. I don't feel like it gives me a "flawless" look by any means, it covers up minor problems very well though and it helps to conceal redness a bit. I've been using this as my primer and I don't notice a huge difference, not that I've really been looking for one, but I've never been unsatisfied with the results. I haven't gotten oily at all, even without powder. (using MUFE Mat Velvet+ Foundation)
I especially like that I hardly have to use any at all. I really only have to use about the size dot you see in the picture above where I blended it out in the series of pictures.
I think I'll do a comparison post about the two BB creams!

Do I recommend it? Yes.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Rating: 5/5

Please keep in mind my reviews are done based on my experience, opinion, and how it works with my skin type.
The results I get may not be the same as the results you get/have gotten.
I rated this product based on how well it performs as a BB Cream according to my standards.

P.S!
