Review: NYX Slim Eye Pencil in White

Disclaimer: The product(s) in this post was bought via the Blanc to Noir blogger partnership.
Yay, a review! It's been a little while since I've been able to do one myself.
This review of the NYX Slim Eye Pencil in White is kind of a pro and con filled review. There's qualities of this eyeliner I love and others.. well, not so much. If you've like to see the full review, keep reading!
Claim: "Glide on color that stays put for the duration of your non-stop, on-the-go day! These cushiony, creamy eye pencils deliver powerful, vibrant color that slides on smooth and stays soft and creamy for blending."

Packaging: The packaging of this eyeliner is your typical pencil liner with a pull off cap. I do like the sleek look of the packaging of this eyeliner as well as the color swatch at the end.

Texture: Here is where I disagree with the claim of this product. I do not find that this pencil is creamy and blendable. Their jumbo eye pencils are creamy and blendable. This product tugs a little bit on the skin and requires a few strokes for the color to show up. On my waterline it is not irritating by any means, it just takes some back and forth to get the vibrant color I want. HOWEVER, if you light the pencil briefly with a lighter, give it a few second to dry, you get a much smoother application and the color comes out with less strokes! This doesn't, however, help with the blendability. You can fade it out but the initial stroke still remains faintly.
Shade: This pencil is a true white.

Thoughts: Although I disagree with the texture and blendability claim, I agree with the color pay off and longevity. I had the liner on for hours without it fading much which really pleased me. I've especially loved applying this to my bottom waterline because it gives such a fresh and awake look to my eyes. You may have noticed I've done this in all my recent makeup looks. Nonetheless, the product isn't entirely true to the claim and therefore has resulted in a lower rating for me. I truly do enjoy the look of the color but a smooth application is something I really look for in liner.

My Rating: 3.5/5

  1. Great review, Christa :D I think texture is a big thing for me when it comes to liners too. Too bad it wasn't creamy...the color looks great!
